Approach of CROMLahore

The basic approach taken by CROMLahore is to go one step further from simply transferring heritage to the next generation. Taking a holistic approach, the Collective aims to transfer the knowledge, skill and techniques, explorative observation, and unique perspective employed by ustads and traditional practitioners for creating such masterpieces of elegance and proportions.

This approach will enable the next generation to fully comprehend the significance of their heritage, leading to them preserving this heritage in all its true essence and spirit.

Implementation

This approach will be implemented through:

• Engaging youth in activities such as investigative research, documenting and observational exercises.
• Engaging / educating Youth in conservation and heritage management initiatives through exposing them to on-site, hands-on experience.
• Involving Communities living in proximity to a heritage property through engaging them in innovative entrepreneurships.
• Training youth, professionals and other stakeholders by providing hands-on skill and technique experience through on-site initiatives.
• Competency Enhancement of the existing professionals through training based on new approaches, and international best practices.
• Building a public access online Database through original research.
• Online publication for knowledge dissemination.
• Establishing an educational Core which will focus on building the capacity of both heritage professionals and interested youth.
